BALL MOUNTING SCREWS

The flat end (partial radius) ball mounting screw is designed to enable the adjustment of the height from either end (wrench flat at the bottom and hex key at the top).  Since the flat end diameter is smaller than the thread diameter, it can be threaded into the nut housing or a tapped hole from either end.  The flat end type does not have a retaining clip feature.

Round end (full radius) ball mounting screws are used when it is necessary to retain a flat round air bearing using a retaining clip. This is desirable if it is necessary to lift the assembly containing the flat air bearing frequently without the need to position the air bearings each time this takes place.
